Lakeside House18 Photos
An ambitious project to build a new family home in a street of near identical properties. To take an outwardly mundane looking house and create a ‘hygge’ house ( Danish clients ) which takes full advantage of its lakeside location. Subtle changes allowed the house to be so much more than its predecessor; shallower roof pitch enabled higher ceilings, added basement accommodating gym and store. A double height open hall, sitting room opening into dining room opening into kitchen which has full height glass onto the garden and lake. The five bedrooms, three bathrooms and office occupy the first floor. Matching brickwork maintains the street scene whilst white painted render adds a sharpness to the rear and contrast to the lakeside garden. An elliptical boat store and pontoon project over the water.
